Entertainment and venues

The venue, on
every wall of it.

Cinemas, stadiums, museums and attractions run more screens per square metre than anywhere else — listings, wayfinding, concessions, sponsors and safety. One console, one library, and one count of which of them are live tonight.

Plans, prices and trials are set by your ScreenQube partner.

The screen above is what you publish. This is where it ends up — a display a customer stands in front of, driven by a player that fetched it on its own.

What goes on the screens

Six things worth putting up.

Every one of these is ordinary media, arranged in Composition and sent out by Publish. Nothing here needs a separate system.

Listings and showing times

What is on, in which screen or hall, and when.

Wayfinding

Screens, blocks, gates, galleries and the way back out.

Concession menus

The same menu-board machinery, at the kiosk.

Sponsor and partner content

Scheduled, reported on, and separated from your own messaging.

Safety and crowd notices

Published to every screen at a site in one action.

Exhibition and interpretation

Museums and galleries: captions, context and content that changes with the exhibition.

Where the screens go

Four walls that earn it.

  1. Foyer and box office

Listings, times and what is still available.

  2. Concourse and concessions

Menus, offers and the wayfinding to get back to a seat.

  3. Gallery and exhibition spaces

Interpretation that changes when the exhibition does.

  4. Back of house

Crew calls, safety and shift notices.

How it is run

Four steps, then it runs itself.

The same four steps whether you have four screens or four hundred. This is the real console, not an illustration.

  1. Add facilities, pair screens

One facility per site, branch or building. A screen joins by showing a registration code, which you type in once. Switch between facilities from the header.

  2. Upload and compose

Media goes into the library, in folders, with tags. Composition arranges it into zones — your own files, plus App Store apps like weather, news or a ticker.

  3. Publish three ways

On a schedule, with day sequences. Or QuickPlay, which the console describes as displaying content instantly for a flash sale or an emergency. Or as the default composition a screen falls back to.

  4. Check it, without going there

Live Monitoring reports each screen's state. Take Screenshot shows what one is really displaying. Reload, clear the cache or reboot it remotely.

What it fixes

The three complaints we actually hear.

Listings change weekly and printing cannot keep up.
Publish the new composition; the players fetch it themselves.
Sponsors want proof their content played.
Reports run in three kinds: a Media Report, an Uptime Report and Audit Logs.
A screen on the upper concourse is dark on a sold-out night.
Live Monitoring counts active and disconnected screens per facility.

Questions

What entertainment and venues teams ask first.

Can showtimes come from our ticketing system?

No ticketing integration has been observed in the console. Listings are published as media through Composition.

Can we prove a sponsor's content played?

Reports run in three kinds: a Media Report, an Uptime Report and Audit Logs. Audits separately records who changed what.

Can each venue run its own screens?

Yes. Each venue is a facility with its own screens and its own default.

What runs on the displays?

An Android player app on displays you own.

Put it on every screen.
